Going to the Deni Ute Muster


Til helga drar jeg til Deniliquin for og treffe min kontakt-person her i Australia, omtrent en og en halv time unna. Skal også på Deni Ute Muster festivalen, Det er en stor festival (stort sett country). Bla. Kelly Clarkson spiller. link:

Kort fortalt startet festivalen med og samle mest mulig Utes på ett sted. ( pickup + personbil = Ute)
De samlet 2839 ca Utes og havnet i Guiness record book. De har hatt lignende rekorder med antal blå singletter, 3500 stk. Det samme med antall hunder, usikker på antall men.. haha Anyway, Skriver mer etter helga :)

This weekend I`m going to the Deni Ute Muster in Deniliquin. It`s like this big (country) festival with big artist`s like Kelly Clarkson and more.

Each trainee will have a contact person here in Australia, I`m going to see mine up there. I will be spending the weekend with him as far as I know, (if nobody else is joing, then we will be camping at the site.)

Some facts about it.

On October 2, 1999, Deniliquin wrote itself into history claiming the Guinness Book of Records title for the largest parade of legally registered utes in the world.

The idea for a festival celebrating the Australian icon of the ute, and Australia’s rural identity was created to encourage tourist visitation on the NSW Labour Day Long weekend – the town’s quietest tourism period. 
A small group of community minded people suggested creating a Guinness World Records record for the most number of utes in the one place to reflect the town’s agricultural and rural history.


The idea was further developed to also include a family camp-out under the stars with bush poetry and camp oven dinner and a country music concert to suit all age groups featuring Lee Kernaghan.


In its first year, the Festival had approximately 5000 patrons and set a new Guinness World Record for the most number of legally paraded utes at 2839 – a record which still stands today. The Festival became the catalyst for Deniliquin to claim the title of Ute Capital of the World. It is now the town’s and the region’s biggest tourist drawcard, completing the event’s original goal of drawing significant tourism income to Deniliquin.


They also have a record for most people wearing a blue "singlets?) 3500 people..      They also have a record for most dogs in one place...  haha.
